Jill Glover Upshaw, 49, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount.

Jill was born in Halifax County on November 8, 1960, the daughter of John Millard and Jewell Glover. She was a graduate of Campbell University. Jill worked at Research Triangle Park with Rhone-Poulenc as a chemist.

She is survived by her husband, Al Upshaw; three daughters, Grace Elizabeth Upshaw, Mary Katherine Upshaw, and Caroline Joy Upshaw, of the home; her parents, John and Jewell Glover of Seaboard, NC; two sisters, Joni G. Evans and her husband, Rudy, of Roanoke Rapids and Nell Todd and her husband, Worth, of New Bern; two brothers, Matt Glover and his wife, Susan, and Mark Glover and his wife, Bonnie, all of Seaboard; her mother-in-law, Ruth Anne Herring, of Lexington, VA; her father-in-law, Charles B. Upshaw, Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Buies Creek First Baptist Church, 118 Main Street, Buies Creek, NC with Dr. J. Michael Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
